As the temperature drops and colder months approach, a lot of us find our body skin getting dryer and more uncomfortable. Whilst frustrating, there are several things you can do to help prevent more severe reactions if you can create some new habits.
Hydration

Hydrating the body will always be key, especially at this time of year. If you struggle to keep up with your water intake, invest in a new, large water bottle and try to finish it each day. Create reminders on your phone to help prompt you to drink throughout the day or try and drink before each meal to try and act as a prompt. If you don’t enjoy water, you can drink water infused with lemon or cucumber or herbal tea.

Shower & Bath Products

Gentle exfoliation can help regenerate the skin and remove dead skin cells. I am a big fan of exfoliating gloves and I like a foaming exfoliator as I find this less harsh but still effective. Using a shower or bath oil can also be a wonderful treat and can help nourish skin before using a thicker product later on.

Bodycare Products

Whilst your skin is still damp, you can apply a luxurious body oil to lock in the moisture. There are also various creams depending on whether you like a thicker or lighter texture. Personally, I like to mix an oil and body cream together as I find this the most nourishing combination.

Lips, Hands & Feet

The body is one thing, but I find my lips, hands and feet take the brunt when it comes to dry skin. I try and apply a hand and foot cream every night before bed to allow maximum time for the products to sink in and I carry a lip balm around so that I can regularly reapply.
